Our Range of Dental Treatments

Diagnosis

Our range of “state of the art” equipment, including a full dentition x-ray machine, commonly found in hospital surroundings, means we can tailor treatment to your needs.

Prevention

Our aim is to help our patients reach a position where their teeth and gums are in a stable condition, requiring only minimal intervention from us to maintain. Our team of hygienists will remove deposit from around your teeth; give advice regarding tooth brushing, interdental cleaning, and the use of mouthwashes. They will identify areas where gum disease may be present; give advice on prevention also included in the treatment is a yearly monitor of gum health.

Implants

Dental Implants are a fantastic way of replacing missing teeth, whether single or multiple, for stabilising dentures both upper and lower, therefore restoring your smile and giving you back confidence. We use one of Europes biggest and and best implant manufacturers, Straumann, who have many years of experience and research behind them. We also work closely with our specialist restorative dental surgeon and laboratory technicians for the best possible result, both in terms of aesthetics and function.

Whitening

The single biggest improvement involving the least treatment for most people is “tooth whitening”. This simple process involves the dentist making moulds of your teeth. About a week later you receive a “made to measure” whitening kit to take home. You will receive instruction on use from the dentist. Over a short time your teeth gradually whiten. This allows you to control the exactly the shade you desire.

Amalgam Replacement

Many people do not like the appearance of amalgam “metal” fillings in their teeth. Others are uncomfortable with the idea of mercury being a component of these fillings. It is possible to replace these amalgam fillings with a tooth-coloured alternative material. This material works well for small restoration whilst, larger fillings may require the extra strength of a laboratory-made “ inlay.”

Ceramic Veneers

If your teeth are slightly out of line or have rough or discoloured surfaces, a relatively simple procedure can change a smile.

A veneer is a thin porcelain layer bonded to the front surface of your tooth. It looks exactly like enamel, this allows the tooth shape and colour to be dictated by you.

Crowns and bridges

Dental Care uses the most “technologically advanced” materials and offer precision made crowns, bridges and dentures made in conjunction with a highly reputable local dental laboratory. This ultimately ensures good communication between patient, dentist and technician and a high success in colour matching and fit.

A crown is a tooth-shaped "cap" placed over a tooth that is badly damaged or decayed. A crown, which many people call a "cap," is made to look like your tooth.

Crowns and bridges may be placed for several reasons, but generally the tooth or teeth have been extensively damaged. Crowns also are used for cosmetic purposes to cover misshapen or badly discoloured teeth.

Ozone Treatment

Our “Healozone” ozone machine is one of only a few in Scotland. Ozone is applied painlessly to the decay in the cavity, thus killing the bacteria and preventing further decay in the tooth. In some circumstances the use of ozone reduces the need for local anaesthesia.

We are committed to “minimal invasive dentistry” and will use all our knowledge to save your teeth.
